Individual and Group Counseling
Individual and Group Counseling
Counseling sessions are an integral part of the Hope's
Door program. Residential counseling is provided during the shelter
stay, and the aftercare program offers a one-year safety net of continuing
support and counseling. Case managers work with each resident to
help her develop a safety plan to keep her and her children safe,
and to establish a plan of action that will enable her to live independently
away from the abuser.
Outreach Counseling
The Outreach Counseling Program provides group counseling,
education and support to women who do not need residential services.
Women who attend outreach counseling meetings learn effective communication
skills to express their feelings and needs. They create safety plans
and form bonds of support with their peers.
